How full is your emotional support bucket
No matter who you are, from someone who has never done any emotional or self-work before, to the Dalai Lama, we all need to be looking after our emotional and mental wellbeing every day.
We all need to fill up our emotional support buckets every day! I’ll explain what I mean.
We all have an emotional support bucket. Every day, we use the support within the bucket when we think, react to our own words, actions, situations, responsibilities or those of others that we are faced with, imagine you are tipping a bit out every time. If your bucket starts the day full and you do small things during the day to keep topping it up, (because it is inevitable that you will be tipping some out!) you will feel calm, grounded and able to cope during the day and will take that nearly filled up or full bucket into the next day.
However, if your bucket starts off only half full, or even less than that, and you don’t do anything to refill it as it gets inevitably depleted, it is going to feel like a really tough day, full of stress, overwhelm and lack of focus and clarity. And sadly, the next day will start off with a nearly empty or empty bucket, leaving you feeling totally drained and unable to cope.
Mental Health Awareness Week
Next week is Mental Health Awareness week and I wanted to share a free emotional wellness support resource that anyone can access to refill their bucket called “Manage your emotions, optimise wellness”. In this 30 minute interactive session which you can access here you will,
Understand why your current feelings are a completely normal human reaction
Learn simple ways to reframe the situation and focus on what you can influence
Practice effective techniques that you and your family can use every day to instantly turn down these overwhelming emotions and feel calmer in yourself
All of which will support your body, mind, immune system and our amazing and most precious NHS.
I encourage you to watch the full 30 minutes as the feedback from the attendees said how powerful it was to gift themselves that period of time where they were held in a safe, supported space, and learnt how to reframe, relax, release tension and rebalance body and mind.
Here’s some more comments I received -
“I joined Lou’s online interactive emotional wellness session. Wow it was amazing. I got so much from it! I had never before done any self-work and I could never relax. Plus I broke my wrist over a year ago and I still had pain from that. I never realised how emotions could add to or cause physical pain until Lou told me. The EFT tapping has helped enormously with reducing my pain, reducing my anxieties and allowing my body to relax! Lou also shared meditation techniques and tools with me as I had never meditated before. Thanks to this powerful combination of tapping and meditation tools (which I now use every day!), I feel grounded, calm and at peace with myself, even my husband has noticed!! I really appreciate what Lou has shared and has helped me achieve, I had no idea I could feel this way!” Zoe, Peterborough
“Thank you Lou for delivering this interactive session with such clarity. I have been tutored by you before and find your style to be gentle, genuine and well researched. You believe in what you do which is transferred to the student with ease. I know that you also live what you teach and have seen this in practice. I am encountering the tapping technique more and more in complementary wellness and am pleased that I have experience of it through you. It was also interesting to note the success of your instruction through the responses of the others at the end of the session! We all benefitted!” Wendy, Oakham
Optimising children’s wellness
As many of you know, optimising children’s wellness, so they can maximise the enjoyment of their precious childhood is very close to my heart, and a key driver in my wellness work. All of the tools in this video can be used by children, so please share them.
In my next newsletter I’ll share why it is SO important for children to release unhelpful emotions and limiting beliefs and I’ll give you my top tips from my “Superpowers for you and your children” talk that I gave on the Family Wellness summit last week. It was an amazing event and the feedback from parents has inspired me even more to help children reduce their stresses and increase their smiles!
As always, I am here for you, you are not alone. If you would like extra support I’m running online weekly interactive emotional support sessions starting Thursday 21st May which you can sign up for here and for tailored one to one support, please do get in touch for a free 15 minute connection call.
Wishing you all the best in wellness and life,
Lou x
